We need you (Psalm 22:1-10)

Gracious and Loving God, we readily admit this morning that we need you every day and every hour of our lives. Yet, we like the Psalmist (Psalm 22:1-10), we also find ourselves confused sometimes.   There are situations in which we cannot see your loving hand.  There are times when we feel as if you’ve left us in the dark with no way out.   As we gather here today, we lift to you all who need you:

for those who need your comfort and peace,

for all who need your healing touch and rest,

for all who need your courage and strength,

for all who need forgiveness and newness of life,

for all who have been mistreated, hurt, bullied, and abused,

for all who need hope in the midst of the struggles and darkness they are in right now.

Hear our prayers for all of these and for all people who acknowledge our need for you when we struggle with doubts, fears, and unbelief. Lord, hear our prayers, through Jesus Christ, who suffered and died and bears our burdens with us.  Amen.
