This blog is a collection of prayers for all of life. They come out of my own life and experience, my reading of the scriptures, my listening for the voice of God, my life as a husband, father, son, pastor, Christian, sinner, griever, lover, human and my journey of walking with God and neighbor.
Our prayers contain our praises, our sadness, our hopes and dreams, and our groans upward to God. Thus “Groan ups” contains the groans, praises and communications of my life with God. I think ultimately our prayers define us and transform us.
Over time I have made this a collection spot for some of the communal and congregational prayer resources that I have put together for worship service both at college I work at and for church worship. Many of the Responsive prayers and scriptural prayers were first used for these purposes.
